City of Brandenburg employee Richard Cissell recently concluded 12 years of employment May 31. “These city workers are the best,” he said during breaks from well-wishers and city officials at a retirement party in his honor. “Both mayors have been excellent and I have spent a lot of good years here.” Cissell and his wife Mary Alice have four daughters, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. When not spending time working around the house, Cissell is looking forward to a trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., in the early fall. Some of the gifts he received included a pocketknife with his name engraved on it and a desk clock commemorating his long tenure.
