That is often the reaction of a parent whose teenager has been drinking, but there’s a deep flaw in that logic. Alcohol is a drug, and it is the drug of choice among youth. A town hall meeting was held March 25 to address the issue of underage drinking in Meade County. It was made possible through a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) based on a need identified through a 2006 survey of Meade County students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12. Louise was born Jan. 3, 1919, in Battletown. Her parents were Joseph Bennett, an employee of the Oolite quarry and retired from Kosmosdale Cement Company, and Bertha Lone Bennett, a housewife.
