Lady Waves spike Lady Hornets in three sets

Area prep girls’ volleyball was in action Sept. 22, when Hancock County traveled to Brandenburg. Two weeks earlier, the Lady Waves pounded the Lady Hornets in straight sets, 25-11 and 25-20. Meade County, 10-4, was riding a three-match winning streak and winning six of their last seven. Hancock County, 15-6-2, came in with dreams of snapping Meade County’s stronghold on the district title.

The first set started off with both teams scoring back and forth. Meade started to separate from Hancock behind Tiffany Filburn’s and Chelsea Stinnett’s kills and Claire Cannady’s and Stinnett’s digs to take the first game 25-20.
