ATTENTION: Make-up days for Meade County Schools

Due to the two natural disasters and inclement weather, the Meade County School District will amend its school calendar for
Feb. 16 and May 19.

School will be in session both days to allow students to make up missed instructional time.


School records fall, honors abound at Region 3 swim meet
Troy Jobe and boys’ relay team head to state competition

On Feb. 5 and 6, the Meade County High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams departed to Woodford County to participate in the Region 3 swim meet where the best advance to state competition. Feb. 5 was the preliminary round with the consolation/championship round Feb 6.

Their journey to prepare for and participate in the Region 3 swim meet has been a bumpy road indeed. Due to the winter storm, sickness, road closings and pool unavailability, preparation/practice has been almost nonexistent. Some members of the team were still sleeping on the floor in front of space heaters because their electricity was not yet restored. There was much adversity to overcome.

Meade County dismantles Cloverport in
homecoming double-header

The Meade County gymnasium was packed Feb. 7 as both the Greenwaves and Lady Waves took the court against district foe Frederick Fraize. Both Fraize teams were winless so far this year and it gave an opportunity for both coaches to empty their benches and let everyone get a chance at varsity action, particularly in front of the large homecoming crowd. A chance for playing time in front of a large crowd is exciting for those who don’t normally get to see much floor action.
