The 1899 Newsboy Strike Takes Center Stage in Newsies at Derby Dinner Playhouse

Spring is finally here, and what better way to treat a loved one than with toe-tapping show tunes and a delicious meal? The Derby Dinner Playhouse, just across the river in Clarksville, Ind., is ready to deliver the perfect date night.
Their current stage production, Newsies, is adapted from the 1992 Disney movie of the same name. Newsies follows a group of underdog newsboys (or newsies) taking a stand against the wealthy newspaper publishers of 1899, including Joseph Pulitzer, for fair pay.
