LST 325 passses Brandenburg
At about 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 10, Owen Chapman, board member of the LST 325 phoned the History Museum to announce the passing of the last WW II landing craft in service today. One other is still afloat. Fran Fischer phoned City Hall, Fiscal Court and the Chamber of Commerce to spread the word of its passing Brandenburg. This ship made 28 runs to Omaha Beach to deliver men and equipment on D Day. The LST 325 will visit and dock next year in September 2020 at Brandenburg. The dates are in process of being confirmed. A large crowd visited the Riverfront Park to see the ship.
