ALL 14 Wrestlers Qualify for STATE

The Region 2 Wrestling Tournament took place in Whitesville Ky over a two-day period starting on Feb 7 and finishing up late in the afternoon on Feb 8. This Regional tournament consists of double elimination with the top four from each weight class advancing to the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament to be conducted on Feb 14-15 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. Meade showed up at the tournament feeling very confident that each wrestler in the 14 weight classes stood a very good chance of qualifying for State, and that many of the wrestlers had a good chance of reaching the championship mat for a chance to be crowned Region Champion in their respective weight class. This tournament is also the deciding factor for wrestlers if their wrestling season continues or ends. Even though this tournament is for individual placement, points are still awarded to each team to determine which team will take home the Region 2 Championship trophy, which Meade has had a hard time grabbing the last few years.
