SISTER MILDRED (ALOYSIUS MARIE) BARR

Sister Mildred (Aloysius Marie) Barr, 85, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, Maple Mount, died Dec. 12, 2006, at Mount Saint Joseph Motherhouse. She was in her 66th year of religious life.

A native of Livermore, she was an educator for 45 years, and a gifted artist and art teacher. She taught at St. Martin School, Flaherty, 1956-57. She taught in many other schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville and the Diocese of Owensboro, and in New Mexico, Missouri, and Nebraska.

Sister Mildred is survived by four sisters, Mary Lillian Hamilton, Owensboro, Ruth Ann Mayfield, Philpot, Janet Goff, Rome, and Angela Marie Dillard, Franklin; four brothers, Louis B. Barr and Herman J. Barr, both of Owensboro, and Gerald L. Barr and Frederick A. Barr, both of Whitesville; nieces and nephews; and the members of her religious community.

The funeral Mass was held Dec. 14 from Mount Saint Joseph. Burial was in the convent cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro, handled the arrangements.
