‘COWBOY’ HARTLEY

James Ronald “Cowboy” Hartley, 82, Andyville, died March 4, 2010, in Brandenburg. He was born May 29, 1927, in Andyville, to the late Francis Richard and Anna Josephine King Hartley.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of St. Theresa Church and an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Joseph Edward “Toad” Hartley; a grandson, Matthew Pike; and a son-in-law, Anthony Pike.

Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife, Freda Basham Hartley; a daughter, Deborah Pike, Payneville; a sister, Stella Redmon, Payneville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 8, at St. Theresa Church in Rhodelia. Burial was in the church cemetery.
