JULIA K. ‘KATIE’ PARHAM

Julia K. “Katie” Parham, 64, Hillview, died March 17, 2010.

She was a retired employee of Louisville Bedding, a member of Ekron, Rolling Hills and Elmira Baptist churches, where she sang in the choirs and was an avid motorcyclist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis Neal and Dorothy (Wade) Howard and a brother, Bobby Howard.

Mrs. Parham is survived by three sons, John Powell, Darrin Powell and Neal Howard (Deanna) Powell; a daughter, Lori Sue Reed; two brothers, Jim and Travis Howard; a sister, Carolyn Shields; two stepchildren, Jeff Parham and Sherri Durrall; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a loving companion, Smitty Simmons; a dear friend, Sherry May; and several nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Funeral services were held March 20, from the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home. Doctor Jamie Vance, of Ekron Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Brookland Cemetery.
