ELSIE CATHERINE (PIKE) REDMON

Elsie Catherine (Pike) Redmon, 90, died March 16, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 13, 1919, to Jim and Emily Pike of Grahampton.

For over 50 years, Elsie and Brick made their home on their family farm in Garrett. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty, where she was a Eucharistic minister. After retiring, Elsie and Brick moved to Flaherty to be closer to their church.

She was always known for her caring and forgiving ways, as well as her deep religious faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; a sister; a son, Thomas Redmon; three grandchildren; and a special great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Redmon is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Charles Adrian “Brick” Redmon, Flaherty; nine children, Harry (Linda) Redmon, Flaherty, Trudy (Mark) Caines, Vine Grove, Delaine (Gene) Streible, Vine Grove, Steve (Brenda) Redmon, Flaherty, Mark (Gayla) Redmon, Brandenburg, Glenn (Kaye) Redmon, Garrett, Danny (Theresa) Redmon, Garrett, Ricky Redmon, Flaherty, and Sharon (David) Pace, Brandenburg; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held March 20, from St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, with the Rev. A.L. Chandler officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which has been Elsie’s favorite charity for years.
