MILDRED ELIZABETH BROWN STURGEON
Mildred Elizabeth Brown Sturgeon, 86, Hardinsburg, died March 15, 2010, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Ammons on March 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Claude Lee and Mabel Garrett Brown.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, gardening and working beside her late husband on their farm. She loved time with her family and they were her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Sturgeon, and a son, Marion Lee Sturgeon.
Mrs. Sturgeon is survived by nine children, Betty (Joe) Sturgeon, Owensboro, Linda Whitworth, Hardinsburg, Margie (Joe) Ammons, McQuady, Doris Dupin, Hodgenville, Diana (Randal) Mercer, Leitchfield, Patricia (Aubert) Freeman, Mount Washington, Billie Sue (Greg) Hodges, Vine Grove, Gordon (Brenda) Sturgeon, Leitchfield, and Wayne (Susie) Sturgeon, Cox’s Creek; a brother, Ronnie Brown, Cecilia; a son-in-law, J.C. Dupin, Leitchfield; 17 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 19, at English Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Owens officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
