WILLIAM DAVID ‘ELMER’ CURL

William David “Elmer” Curl, 80, West Point, died April 3, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Louisville. He was born May 2, 1929, in Battletown, to the late William Francis “Dude” and Arnie Mae Bennett Curl.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from the West Point Water Department.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lucille Enlow Curl and a stepsister Margaret Jantzen.
Mr. Curl is survived by a brother, Francis “Buck” (Lavinda) Curl, West Point; a nephew, Eddie (Lisa) Curl, West Point; step-brother-in-law, Bid Jantzen, Brandenburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held April 6, from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Burial was in Marve Bennett Cemetery.
