VERNON R. CONRAD
Vernon R. Conrad, 70, died April 29, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind. He was born Jan. 13, 1940, in Harrison County, Ind., to the late Stoy Craig and Nora Margaret Cline Conrad.
He was retired from Icon Metal Forming in Corydon, was a former employee of National Homes in New Albany, a former meat cutter at Jay-C Food Store in Corydon, and an accomplished maker of custom knives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Allen Keith Conrad; and three sisters, Arlene Ruth Windell, Bonnie Jean Arnold and Sharon Sue Thomas.
Mr. Conrad is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Feller, Corydon, a son, Stoy Allen (Sheila) Conrad, Corydon; four daughters, Lori R. Taylor and Sherry (Carl) Vaughn, all of Corydon, Andrea (Tony) Voyles, New Albany, and Kristi (Jeff) Huston, Bloomington, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. May 8, from the chapel of the Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. May 8.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Harrison County Hospital Foundation or the Floyd Memorial Hospital Foundation.
