ANNA CHRISTINE FILBURN
Anna Christine Filburn, 94, Vine Grove, died May 16, 2010, at her home. She was born in Sirocco, on Feb. 9, 1916, and has been a resident of Vine Grove for 68 years.
She was a member of Saint Brigid Church and from 1950-1969 she managed the Saint Brigid School cafeteria and was known, by the students and others, for her ready smile and jolly spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John R. Filburn, in 1987; her parents, Herbert and Lillian Stull, Payneville; four sisters, Eula Stefater, Louisville, Marie Mullins, Payneville, Jane Thomas, Louisville, and Mary Stull, Payneville and three brothers, Richard Stull, Harold Stull, and James Stull, all of Payneville.
Mrs. Filburn is survived by her children, John Wayne (Nan) Filburn, Vine Grove, Judith Ann (Gene) Hermesmeyer, Scottsdale, Ariz., Dr. Charles R. (Bea) Filburn, Forest Hill, Md., and Robertina Filburn, Vine Grove; a sister, Louise Brown, Guston; a brother, Frank Stull, Brandenburg; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. May 19, at Saint Brigid Church with the Rev. Dan Lincoln officiating. Burial will be in Saint Brigid Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at the Nelson-Edelen Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove from 5 until 8 p.m. May 18 and beginning at 9 a.m. on May 19. There will be a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. May 18 at the funeral home.
