ROBERT FRANKLIN
‘BUD’ ROBERTS
Robert Franklin “Bud” Roberts, 79, Guston, died June 3, 2010, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg.
He was a member of Ekron Baptist Church since 1941 and served as a church deacon for over 30 years. He was a 40-year member of Harrison Masonic Lodge #122 F.&A.M., a medic from 1950 until 1954 in the United States Air Force stationed at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Miss., and a retired civil service property officer with 38 years service.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Roberts; three brothers, William Harold Roberts and James C. Roberts, both of Ekron, and Russell Wayne Roberts, Guston; 13 nieces and nephews; a special great-niece; several other great-nieces and great-nephews; and two first cousins.
Funeral services were held June 7, from Ekron Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Ekron Baptist Church. Active pallbearers were Jeff, Kelly, Rick, Kevin, Danny and Nick Roberts, Richie and Sherman Dowell, Joey Critchelow, Craig Tighe, Keith Matthews and Ron Mills.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Central Kentucky or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
