RUTH ELAINE LUCAS

Ruth Elaine Lucas, 83, Guston, died July 16, 2010, at her residence. She was born October 5, 1926, to the late James Russell and Florence Elaine Buskirk Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lucas; three children, Earl Lucas Jr., Ralph Edward Lucas, and James Daniel Lucas; a brother, Paul H. Pogue; and three grandchildren, Carrie Lyn Lucas, Dawn Marie Belchen and David Gray.

Mrs. Lucas is survived by seven children, William Russell Lucas, Jane Lucas Tackett, Janet Lucas Tabor, Patricia Anne Avery, Sally Dallas, Perry Alan Lucas and Jerraline Lucas; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 19, at Guston Baptist Church in Guston. Burial was in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington.
