RUSSELL LEE DOWELL

Russell Lee Dowell, 63, Vine Grove, died Oct. 17, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was born Jan. 6, 1947, to the late Hubert and Alma Wells Dowell

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Evelyn Vessels and Wanda Akridge and a brother, Hubert Macy Dowell.

Mr. Dowell is survived by his wife, Wanda Dowell; three children, Lori (Paul) Walden, Dennie Dowell and Douglas (Lori) Dowell; a sister: Brenda (Steven) Franklin; eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. EDT Oct. 21, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:30 to 9 p.m. EDT Oct. 20.

Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville.
