MYRTLE MAE COMPTON MOORE

Myrtle Mae Compton Moore, 89, Garfield, died Oct. 18, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Breckinridge County on Jan. 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Willie Horace and Bertha Belle Gardner Compton. She was a member of Garfield Baptist Church, retired from Galante Studio after 33 years and enjoyed sewing.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Hubert, Bill, Carlie, Charlie, Evelyn, Virginia, Ailene and Dot.

Ms. Moore is survived by three children, Lula Belle Carman, Garfield, Sissy (Jimmy) Bruner, Louisville, and Gary (Gail) Moore, Jeffersontown; a sister, Betty Claycomb, Irvington; two brothers, Tommy Compton, Garfield, and Junie Compton, Leitchfield; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Oct. 22 at Garfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Bruington and the Rev. Chuck Ellis officiating. Burial was in the Garfield Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
