‘DOCK’ WARDRIP

David Thomas “Dock” Wardrip, 94, Brandenburg, died Nov. 8, 2010, at his residence. He was born March 9, 1916, in Brandenburg, the son of the late George T. and Betty Lawson Wardrip.

He was a longtime member of Brandenburg United Methodist Church, retired from the Plumber’s Shop with civil service at Fort Knox, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Wardrip.

Mr. Wardrip is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anna Mae Lampkin Wardrip; two daughters, Patricia Wardrip (David) Baskins, Louisville, and Lollie Benham, Brandenburg; a brother, Emmett “Pardner” (Dorothy) Wardrip, Brandenburg; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Nov. 11, at the Brandenburg United Methodist Church. Burial was in Cap Anderson Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home.
