JO ANN ALLEN

Jo Ann Allen, 73, Union Star, died Nov. 19, 2010, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 3, 1937, in Valley Station, the daughter of the late Joseph Wilson and Thelma Wilkerson Shelton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wilson Allen.

Mrs. Allen is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Doug) Shartzer and Barbara Allen, Union Star, and Mary Jo (Robert) Johnson, Vine Grove; a son, Joey (Debbie) Allen, Lodiburg; four brothers, Paul Shelton, Florida, John Shelton, Tennessee, James Shelton and David Shelton, Nicholasville; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Nov. 22, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the playground fund at the Lincoln Trail Christian Church in Irvington.
