EUGENIA BERRY SHUMATE SMITH

Eugenia Berry Shumate Smith, 89, Louisville, died Nov. 18, 2010, at the Summerfield Health and Rehab in Louisville. She was born in Meade County on Aug. 10, 1921, to the late William T. and Nell Berry.
She was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church in Louisville.

She was preceded in death by four brothers; a sister; her first husband, William Shumate; and her second husband, Tom Smith.

Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, Gerald (Janet) Shumate; a daughter, Doris (Sam) Kwapinski, all of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Margaret Berry, Guston; two grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in Louisville. Burial was in New Highland Baptist Church Cemetery.
