RUDOLPH GAINES LUNSFORD

Rudolph Gaines Lunsford, 83, Otter Creek, died Dec. 6, 2010, at North Hardin Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He served as assistant chief of the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department and was a World War II Marine veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lunsford; parents, Robert Boyd and Joycie Tuggle Lunsford; several siblings, Nelly Keller, Boyd Wheeler, Artemisia Lunsford, Raymond Tracy Lunsford, Bruce Lunsford, Dovie Daniels, Ralph Lunsford and Dorothy Goode.

Mr. Lunsford is survived by the mother of his children, Libby Lunsford; his children, Judy Thompson, Jacksonville, N.C., Russell (Janice) Lunsford, Elizabethtown, Dennis (Joyce) Lunsford, Louisville, and Shirley (Les) Reesor, Louisville; a sister, Verna Alexander; a brother, Dale (Betty) Lunsford; a sister-in-law, Jewell Lunsford; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 9, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central with Doug Mitchell officiating.
