LESLIE F. ‘LES’ BICKETT

Leslie F. “Les” Bickett, died Dec. 20, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Meade County on June 29, 1935, a son of the late Joseph Henry and Mary Evelena Bickett.

He owned and operated Bickett Distributing Company with his brother, Joe, for over 30 years and owned and operated the Captain’s Table Restaurant with his son for 12 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Catholic Church of St. James, and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mildred Bickett; and a brother, Joe Bickett.
Mr. Bickett is survived by his wife, Pat; a son, Brent Bickett, Conway S.C.; a daughter, Dana (Nick) Partin, Lake Wylie, S.C.; three granddaughters, Rylie Bickett, Conway, S.C., Ella Gray Partin and Sullivan Partin, both of Lake Wylie, S.C.; two sisters, Elizabeth (Orville) Scheuerell, Sun Prairie, Wis., and Barbara (Tim) Conliffe, Louisville; two brothers, Ed Bickett, Flaherty, and Marion (JoAnn) Bickett, Elizabethtown; a sister-in-law, Marty Bickett, Florence, S.C.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 29, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence, S.C. Arrangements are being handled by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home in Florence, S.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence, S.C., the Catholic Church of St. James in Conway, S.C., or to the American Cancer Society.
