Ashley Paige Schaffner, Vine Grove, has been named a United States Collegiate Award winner in communications/journalism. Schaffner, who attends Lindsey Wilson College, was nominated for this national award by Thomas Winski, a journalism professor at the college. She will appear in the United States Achievement Academy’s Official Collegiate Yearbook, published nationally. She is president of Lindsey Wilson College’s chapter of Alpha Chi Theta, a national honor society consisting of the top 10 percent of her class. In addition, she is special events coordinator for the executive cabinet of the college’s Student Government Association and a member of Lambda Pi Eta, an honor group for communications majors. Schaffner is the daughter of Hank and Patty Schaffner, Vine Grove. Her grandparents are Mel and Faye Ferry, Louisville.
