Memories abound at Buck Grove Baptist Church sesquicentennial
On Sept. 4, 1857, representatives of five churches and four families met and created history in Meade County.
Now, 150 years later, with a membership totaling 780, parishioners of the Buck Grove Baptist Church remembered the past and looked toward the future.

Family Fest 2007 at Battletown Park
On Sept. 15, Blue River Island Baptist Church hosted Family Fest 2007 at Battletown Park. The event was completely free, except for items purchased in the silent and live auctions, the proceeds of which went to Lifeline, a 12-step program for recovery.

Gather ’round the flagpole
Students at Muldraugh Elementary School gathered around the flagpole at 9 a.m. Sept. 14 to present a musical salute to the American flag and to the military men and women who defend it. The presentation, attended by proud parents and teachers, was part of the National Anthem Project begun in 2004 to celebrate the day Francis Scott Key wrote “The Star Spangled Banner” – what was to become our official national anthem in 1931.

Lack of quorum stalls Ethics Commission
