At last it’s ‘sledding snow’
Between 10 and 14 inches of snow fell on Meade County March 7-8, with high winds creating drifts even higher. Treacherous travel conditions led to the declaration of a state of emergency for Meade County with people directed to stay off the roads except for emergency situations. The good news, however, was that the sun came out Saturday afternoon, the snow was soft and plentiful, and many kids in Meade County experienced their first really good sledding snow in quite a long time – many for the first time. Pictured above: Payton Brown, Reagan Brown, Garrett Wilkins, Grant Wilkins, Logan English, Caleigh Clark and Meagan Clark had fun in the snow. Meade County Schools were closed Friday for a snow day, but back in session on Monday after a one-hour delay.
