MCHS students attend KUNA

Thirteen students from Meade County High School and their advisers attended the Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA) March 16-18 at the Executive West Inn, Louisvile.

Meade County archers bring home scholarships and awards from state

While the skies promised and delivered on the rain last Tuesday morning, the Meade County schools’ archery teams loaded the buses and headed for the state championship. Held on March 18 at the Louisville Convention Center, the world’s largest archery state tournament hosted 1,781 archers from across Kentucky. Over 750 schools in the state have implemented the National Archery in the Schools Program. Out of those schools, 114 teams qualified to compete in the state competition. Considering the program was implemented in only 100 schools in 2002 the success has been phenomenal.

Meade’s world class athlete

It’s not every day a world class athlete – much less a world and national champion – speaks at the high school level, but that’s what happened Feb. 1 when champion archer Ashley First addressed the Meade County High School swim team before they headed to regional competition. Our swimmers had that experience.

Concert bands earn great ratings at festival

The freshman and 10th-12th-grade band had their first concert March 18 in the newly built MCHS auditorium, and then went on to play at the KMEA festival held at John Hardin High School on March 20.
