Kentucky State Police from the Elizabethtown Post are continuing an investigation into what appears to be a domestic violence shooting incident which occurred April 25 at about 7:55 p.m.

The incident occurred on Lees Lane, just off KY 1638. Pronounced dead at the scene was Daniel Prough, 37, and his father-in-law, Alvin Meyer, 64.

Troopers report both men were found outside the house.

The two females, Wanda Meyer, 65, the suspect’s mother-in-law, and Tammy Prough, 37, his wife, were both airlifted via LifeNet and STATCARE helicopters to University Hospital in Louisville.

The two were stabilized at the scene by the Meade County EMS and Meade County Fire Department before being transported.

Their conditions were reported as critical in a Saturday press release from the KSP, and updated conditions were unavailable Monday morning.

Two children who reside in the home were uninjured.

KSP troopers said the investigation was pending and couldn’t release additional details. The investigating trooper was off on Monday and the post’s public affairs officer was involved in training all week in Frankfort.

In addition to the KSP, other units assisting at the scene were the Meade County Sheriff’s office, Muldraugh Police Department and the Meade County coroner.

The incident is still under investigation by the KSP, with assistance by the Meade County Sheriff’s Department. The KSP investigating trooper is Det. Jeremy Mabe.
