Greenwave track and field compete well at North Hardin Invitational

In track and field, a competitor competes twice: against the opponent and against himself. Winning against an opponent results in trophies; winning against oneself provides personal growth, confidence in one’s abilities and self improvement. At the May 10 North Hardin Track and Field Invitational, 16 members of the Meade County High School track and field team set personal records (PR) in events in which they competed. This is a testament to their hard work, devotion and dedication. Approximately 680 participants, representing 23 high school from around the state, competed at the invitational.

Greenwaves take district win

There’s one out, bases are loaded and the score is 6-5 against the number one seed in district. No pressure for a pitcher, right? Well that’s the scenario greeting Andrew Oliver May 6 when he entered the game against Hancock County High School. “I was nervous but confident” said Oliver after the game. “Then I got the first out and felt more relaxed and calm.” Calm is the operant word as Oliver struck out both the batters he faced and secured the first district win for the Greenwaves this season.

Lady Waves sharpen up for tournament season

With the district and regional tournaments approaching, the Lady Wave softball team looked to gain some experience and confidence in the Lowes Classic at North Laurel High School.

Meade tennis teams struggle against John Hardin

With the regional tournament days away, the girls’ and boys’ tennis teams looked to try to gain some momentum against a good John Hardin tennis team. Both teams struggled against John Hardin, but had some bright spots. Meade lost both the girls’ and the boys’ matches, 4-1 and 3-2, respectively.

Meade Football Boosters hold Gridiron Cornhole Tournament

On April 26, Meade County High School’s Football Boosters held their first annual Gridiron Cornhole Tournament. The fundraiser was held in the gym at Meade County High School.
