Meade archery at nationals

Meade County archery season ended brilliantly May 10 in Louisville. The National Archery in the Schools Program held their national competition May 9 and 10, with Meade County winning one team award and seven individual awards.

Cundiff and Medley advance to state tennis tournament

It’s been 12 years – since 1996 – that a representive of the Meade County boys’ tennis team qualified for the trip to Lexington for the state tennis tournament. Seeded third overall, the doubles team of Jonah Cundiff and David Medley were posed to make a run at changing that.

Greenwaves win one, lose one before district tournament
Bo Wilson gets first win as varsity pitcher

Greenwave baseball was in action May 13 when Meade County took on Fort Knox High School. Earlier in the year, Meade County blew out the Eagles, 26-4 at Fort Knox. Trying to find some momentum before the district tournament next week, Coach Daren Snell decided to go with young Bo Wilson on the mound to try to get the victory.

Lady Waves drop close matchups at Trojan Invitational

In preparing for the district tournament, Lady Wave softball took on two ranked teams, North Hardin (25th) and Louisville Butler (17th) May 12 and 13. The Lady Waves lost a close defensive battle to North Hardin, 2-1, and were shut out by Butler, 1-0.

Lady Wave tennis team struggles against good competition at Regionals

An end to a tough season came May 13 for the Lady Wave tennis team as they competed in the Regional tournament at Elizabethtown. Hard-pressed for wins all year, the Lady Waves looked to gain some valuable experience that will help them prepare for the years to come.

Track teams flex muscle at conference meet
Girls finish third; boys take seventh

With the end of the season approaching, the Greenwave/Lady Wave track teams stormed the field in Elizabethtown at the Lincoln Trail Heartland Athletic Conference Meet. The meet featured nine local high schools from what most people associate with the 5th Region when it comes to sports.
