Celebrating Brandenburg High School graduation

Brandenburg High School held its seventh commencement service June 3 in the auditorium of Meade County High School. Under the director of Bruce Soderstrom, the MCHS band played “Pomp and Circumstance” as 32 graduates processed through a throng of well-wishers to their seats in front. Signified by a golden stole, Brittany Nicole Martin was the valedictorian of the class. Administrative director Bob Bertrand, superintendent of schools Mitch Crump and counselor Amelie Carney awarded diplomas to the graduates, and a reception was held in their honor, hosted by the Youth Services Center. From its beginning with a handful of graduates, Brandenburg High School has continued to provide students in difficult circumstances an alternative way to obtain their high school diplomas.
