Meade County Relay For Life

According to the American Cancer Society, cancer accounts for one of every four deaths in the United States. It is the second most common cause of death, exceeded only by heart disease. In 2008, approximately 1,437,180 new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed. About 565,650 of those cases are expected to lose their battle with cancer – more than 1,500 people a day.

The alumni of Meade County High School gathered June 7 in the East Family Life Center at Brandenburg United Methodist Church for their annual banquet.

Pullers will gather June 21 to honor Matt Pike’s memory, raise funds for gym

Matthew James Pike lived his dream, expanding his farm from 1,100 acres to 2,000 acres.

But he was struck down on Oct. 24, 2007, due to an undiagnosed enlarged heart.
