Take a step back in time with members of the Lincoln Trail Antique Power of Past during their 16th annual Threshing Days show.
The event is planned July 4-6 at Otter Creek Park near Muldraugh.
Exhibitors are expected to demonstrate how farmers in the early 1900s used antique equipment to do threshing and baling.
Some of the show highlights include watching wheat threshed and baled as it was done in the 1930s and 1940s, and how single-cylinder engines once were used to pump water, churn butter, shell corn, grind meal, pump oil out of the ground and wash clothes.
This year’s show will feature International Harvester and Kentucky Chapter #24 Red Power Reunion tractors. About 200 antique tractors and vintage autos are expected to be present.
Returning this year will be demonstrations of a horse-powered hay baler, a coal-fired steam engine driving the threshing machine and a demonstration of work horses performing farm work.
Daily events include frequent parades of antique tractors, some dating as far back as the early 1920s, and tractor skill contests designed to demonstrate both operator and equipment versatility.
Exhibitors from Kentucky and neighboring states will bring their tractors and other farming implements of yesteryear to display and operate.
Artisans will display and demonstrate many old art and handcrafts, such as quilting, blacksmithing and weaving. There will be a flea market as well as antique items for sale.
Children’s activities include barrel train rides, a pedal tractor raffle and games. Vendors will be on-site to offer food, toys, crafts and souvenirs.
A nondenominational church service is planned for July 6 at 9 a.m.
Admission is free for the event, with the hours from 9 a.m. to dark July 4 and July 5 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 6.
The park is located off KY 1638, about 10.5 miles from Brandenburg. Campsites and cabins are available for overnight visitors, by calling the park at (502) 942-3211.
