Rev. Charles Blanc retires from Ekron Baptist Church

Rev. Charles Blanc has preached his last sermon at Ekron Baptist Church. He retired June 29 after serving as the church’s pastor for 41 years.

Fairview High School field trip to Mammoth Cave 1934-35

Fairview High School, nicknamed Sassafras College, was located on the corner of Hwy 144 and Concordia Road (Hwy 230) across from Knott’s Store. It was a two-year high school in existence for only two years.

Pike Memorial Pull earns about $45,000; 2009 plans are being considered

Family members were extremely pleased with the results of the Matt Pike Memorial Truck and Tractor Pull June 21 and are in discussions for a repeat event in 2009.
