Free golf clinic held for junior golfers

On June 25, Joel Kessinger and Larry Simpson, owners of Radcliff’s 1-UP Golf Pro Shop & Driving Range, held a free junior golf clinic at Hillcrest Country Club in Brandenburg. For two hours, about 20 eager young boys and girls learned proper gripping of the club, putting drills and instruction, swing drills and instruction, and proper stance.

Greenwaves go 2-3 in annual shootout

The Meade County Greenwave basketball team hosted their annual Greenwave Shootout June 16-18. Eleven teams competed in the event, representing both Kentucky and Indiana.

On June 24, the Lady Wave softball program celebrated another successful season with their annual awards banquet. With the success of the freshman team, junior varsity and varsity squads, many accolades and awards were given out to recognize individual and team achievements.

Move over, gentlemen, there’s a new kid on the block and she’s a young lady from Rhodelia.

Regina Decker, or Gina May as she is better known, put herself in the history books while bowling on the Sunday Night Mixed Summer League, May 11.

Vine Grove Gators finish second at Kohl’s American Cup

The U-10 Vine Grove Gators finished as runners-up in the 2008 Kohl’s American Cup held at Oldham County Buckner Soccer Complex the past two weekends (June 7-8 and June 14).
