Bethel United Methodist Church celebrates 110 years

Shortly after the dedication of their newly built sanctuary, Bethel United Methodist Church celebrated 110 years of service and fellowship June 29 with many old friends attending a service of remembrance and recognition – but not before they got something to eat.

Sharing profits?
Fair breakfast sheds light on farmer’s share of the food costs

With the cost of milk, eggs and beef increasing hourly, it seems, the Meade County Farm Bureau has decided to shift the light onto farmers and their plight.

In an effort to educate the public on the farmer’s limited share in the food cost dollar, Farm Bureau members, with the help of “Survivor” television star “Kentucky Joe,” are sponsoring breakfast during the Meade County Fair.

Young performers from throughout the United States showcased their musical talent as Drum Corps International, the nonprofit event producer of the world’s most elite and exclusive marching music ensembles, visited Louisville July 7.
