SPMS Library goes Hollywood Photos by Sandra Stone
Media specialist Janet Powers is getting the red carpet ready for the students at Stuart Pepper Middle School. Powers begins each year with a different theme and decorates the library accordingly. This year, the theme is “You’ve Seen the Movie; Now Read the Book.” Or, as Yoda would say, “Seen the movie you have; read the book you should.”

Roxanne Sydnor named KBEA Teacher of the Year
On July 30, Roxanne Sydnor, now in her eighth year of teaching business at Meade County High School, was named the Kentucky Business Education Association Teacher of the Year during their annual brunch at the Galt House in Louisville. Fellow business teacher Kelly Holley, serves on the KBEA board and presented the award. “It was nice to have a friend on stage with me,” said Sydnor of the presentation.

Making the successful transition
Change – even positive change – can be stressful, and adjusting to new surroundings, new faces and new expectations can be very stressful, especially for a young person.
On July 30 and 31, the Youth Service Center coordinators for Stuart Pepper Middle School and Meade County High School set out to make two transitions successful for the students involved.

Fire, iron and bourbon
Jail House Pizza welcomed 150 bikers Aug. 2 to conclude the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club’s Bourbon Run. The run featured points of interest relating to Kentucky heritage and is one of two charity events the club has participated in this year.
