MCHS Alumni Association
bestows honors, welcomes 302 new members

Alumni were honored and 302 new members were welcomed as members of the Meade County High School Alumni Association during their annual banquet/meeting June 6, at Brandenburg United Methodist Church.

The honored class were the graduates from the class of 1959, but the stars of the evening were Wathena Kennedy Miller and Robert Clinton Roberts who were named alumni of the year.

Local Lady Waves make All-State team
Each year, the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association votes for the All-State Softball team members. The awards will be presented at the University of Kentucky Softball Complex on June 13, at approximately 12:30 or immediately following game 2 of the East/West All-Stars game.

Area pullers continue pulling for the Pike dream Fairgrounds to host June 20 tractor/truck event

On June 20 at 7 p.m., the Meade County Fairgrounds will awaken to the roar of tractors and trucks.
It’s time for the second annual Matt Pike Memorial Truck and Tractor Pull.

Organizers Neal and Jason Allen, their families and hundreds of others are hoping to eclipse the success of the first event, held at the same time last year.

“The whole Pike family is involved,” Neal said, reciting the names of their wives, Alison and Melissa and Matt’s widow, Nancy.
