CODY SPARKS and LTC. RICH LIVINGSTON
Cody Sparks, Brandenburg, is the recipient of an Army ROTC scholarship. He is the son of Karen and Jerry Russell, Brandenburg, and Don Sparks, Germany, and the only grandson of Ken and Linda Wright, also of Brandenburg.
Sparks won the funds after achieving a meritorious record in academic studies, extracurricular participation, and athletic activities, and having demonstrated exceptional leadership potential, as well as an expressed desire to serve as an officer in the United States Army.
Sparks, a 2009 graduate of Meade County High School, will attend Eastern Kentucky University, where he has enrolled in the Army ROTC “Colonel’s” battalion. As a member, he will receive full tuition, room, meals, books and living allowance totaling $80,000 over four years. EKU provides unlimited room and meal scholarships to all four-year Army ROTC scholarship winners.
