WBCCI congregates at Meade County Fairgrounds
Residents of Meade County probably wondered what was going on at the Meade County Fairgrounds for the past week or so. Well, wonder no more – it was merely the Region 5 Rally of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI), the Airstream RV Association.
The Airstream is a sleek, silver, aluminum, semi-monocogue constructed recreational vehicle (RV) with rounded, aero-dynamic corners. It is lightweight and comes in lengths of 19-34 feet. Airstream also makes motor homes.

Scott King has returned from Frankfort with a message for his fellow students.
“Drive to stay alive.”
The Meade County High School junior was one of 21 students from Kentucky selected to participate in the Kentucky State Police’s (KSP) “Drive to Stay Alive” program held Sept. 13 - 16, in Frankfort.
The program teaches teens safe driving techniques by KSP instructors with hands-on road driving and classroom exercises. The academy stressed the dangers of driving impaired, seat belt safety, distracted and aggressive driving according to Sherry Bray, KSP public affairs.

Lady Waves find success on the road
On Sept. 14, the Lady Wave volleyball team made the trek down U.S. 60 to face the Lady Tigers of Breckinridge County for the second week in a row. Last week, after winning the first set at home, it looked as if the Lady Waves began to look past the Lady Tigers and this complacency almost cost them the second set. Last Tuesday was not the case. The ladies from Meade County were all business, and dispatched the Lady Tigers in straight sets. That is not to say the home standing ladies rolled over and were blown out of their own gym. Just the opposite. These Tigers have a lot of fight in them, and tested the Lady Waves throughout the match.
