Greenwaves and Bruins flex their muscles on defense
The Greenwave soccer team took the journey down to Cecelia to meet the Bruins of Central Sept. 18, and came back home with a tie.
Both defenses shut out the offenses, and at the end of regulation, the score was 0-0. Meade’s offense seemed much improved. There seemed to be better communication – especially between the midfielders – and as a result the passes were crisp and on target to open players. The first half of play was pretty equally divided between the two teams, with a slight edge to Meade County on offensive. At the half, shots on goal were in favor of the Bruins, but Meade seemed to have more attacks deep into the Central Hardin half of the field.

Greenwaves drop fourth in a row
“We weren’t physical enough,” said senior Chaz Nevitt after last Friday’s football game and that pretty much summed up the Greenwave effort, Sept. 18. The Greenwaves hosted the Ballard Bruins at Hamilton field and for the fourth time in a row, dropped another football game. What was different about this game was the Bruins were the first unranked team the Greenwaves have faced, yet they handed Meade County the worst loss of the season – 44-7.
Granted there have been some key injuries that held some players out of the game, and limited the usefulness of others, but that should not have affected the manner in which the Greenwaves played.
