Guston teen earns silver Congressional medal

Kaleb (Storm) Fraley, a Meade County High School junior, is climbing the ladder to success. One rung at a time. Fraley, the son of Subreana and the late Jeremy Fraley, received the silver Congressional Medal of Honor for his volunteerism and other activities.

PVT. JORDAN JACKSON

Army National Guard Pvt. Jordan A. Jackson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

Pvt. Jackson is the son of Bret Jackson, Brandenburg, and Penny Jackson, Brandon, Vt. He is a 2009 graduate of Otter Valley Union High School in Brandon.


Bellarmine University dean’s list

Bellarmine University has named students to its dean’s list for the 2009 fall semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who receive a grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

The following local residents were named to the dean’s list: Sara Renyer and Kayla Stull, both of Brandenburg, and Jordan Wise, Payneville.


Trinity College dean’s list

In recognition of outstanding academic achievement, Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights, Ill., has named Jennifer L. Hill, Guston, to the dean’s list for fall 2009 semester. Trinity students must be enrolled full time and earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
