Long overdue honors


Meade County Public Schools Superintendent Mitch Crump, joined board President Dr. John Inman, far right, in recognizing local veteran, Felix Gorby Wright, center, with his long overdue high school diploma. The document was presented during the school board’s June 8 meeting, with Crump commenting it was one of the most enjoyable things he does as superintendent.


Shes Tops!

 

Jodi Morgan, Brandenburg, proudly displays the first and third place medals she recently received from participating in the state Special Olympics competition June 5, in Richmond. The first place medal was won in the 50-meter dash and Jodi captured third in the softball throw.

“Artist of the Year”

The Central Kentucky Artist of the Year reception was held June 6, at the Brown-Pusey House in Elizabethtown.

Sarah Smith named to CU dean’s list

Campbellsville University vice president for Academic Affairs, Dr. Frank Cheatham, has announced the academic honors’ list for the spring 2010 semester. Sarah Catherine Smith, a senior from Brandenburg, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.


Caitlin Molnar graduates
from Centre College


Caitlin Molnar, Vine Grove, graduated May 23, from Centre College during the 187th commencement ceremony held at the college’s Norton Center for the Arts. Molnar earned a bachelor of arts degree in English.
Molnar is the daughter of Daniel and Melissa Molnar, Vine Grove, and a graduate of Meade County High School.


CASSIE EMERT

Cassie Emert, 7th-grade, received state recognition from Duke University for her score on the ACT. A ceremony was held May 28, 2010, at Western Kentucky University.

 


Austin Lyon Hollis

Austin Lyon Hollis, a Meade County High School graduate, received a bachelor of arts degree from Transylvania University on May 29, during a commencement ceremony on the front steps of historic Old Morrison.
Austin graduated with honors in anthropology and a minor in environmental studies. He is the son of John Hollis and Mary Lyon, Battletown.
