KORT Changing the Lives of Cancer Patients

KORT, or Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team, has a cancer rehabilitation program that is already helping cancer patients regain their quality of life during and after cancer treatment. Therapists get trained on how to provide education on cancer rehab. Shannon Burke, PTA, is the only therapist in our area who is certified to provide cancer rehabilitation.

On 1638 (Old Mill Road) right across from 1638 Auto Sales is a non-profit store by Reaching Souls Crusade Ministry. They had an event on June Friday 14th and Saturday the 15th where they showcased local vendors and had a Charity Yard sale to benefit those in need.

MAC Holds Betta Swim Lessons

On June 11th, the Meade Activity Center (MAC) held the first “Betta” swim class this summer from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The children had a blast and learned some new swimming skills/techniques such as extending their arms as they swim and kicking with their legs straight out.
