Industrial Authority one step closer to land acquisition

The Meade County/Brandenburg Industrial Development Authority held a special called meeting Dec. 21 for the purpose of discussing the acquisition of approximately 550 acres at Arch Chemicals’ Brandenburg plant. The first order of business was to hire attorney David Wilson as legal counsel to the Authority. The second order of business was to enter closed session to further discuss the land acquisition. County ready for road work

Meade County Fiscal Court met in a special session on Dec. 21 to tie up loose ends from 2005 business. After months of discussion and research, the Court voted to purchase a Caterpillar road grader from Whayne Supply Company in Louisville at a cost of $137,938 with trade-in. MCFPD Board of Trustees thanked for progress

Chairman Mike Curl closed the December meeting by complimenting the Meade County Fire Protection District board members on the progress made in 2005. He thanked them for their hard work on managing the budget and still providing a new fire truck and purchasing property for a new station.

Messenger Year in Review

January 2005

For the third straight season, Meade County High School golfer Katie Fraley has been named Area Player of the Year.

David Pace, chairman of the Meade County Industrial Authority, appeared before the Meade County Riverport Authority. Unable to give specifics at this time, Pace indicated the Industrial Authority is currently working on a possibility which could be beneficial to all parties involved.
