Following a marathon session to iron out last-minute concerns, the Meade County/Brandenburg Industrial Development Authority and Meade County Fiscal Court entered into an agreement with Arch Chemicals to purchase 551 acres of property for the sum of $6 million. This property includes the Meade County Riverport and the site of the proposed ethanol plant. Now that the conveyance of the property is complete, the Industrial Development Authority will begin marketing it to businesses interested in the area. Seated, left to right: David Pace, chair of the Industrial Authority; Rick Walden, Arch Chemicals; and William Haynes, Meade County Judge Executive. Standing, left to right: Magistrates Theresa Padgett and Don Callecod, Industrial Authority members Harry Lee Lusk and Rick Myers, Magistrate Harold Davidson, County Attorney Darren Sipes, and Magistrates Herbie Chism and Jamie Staples.
