Road signs critical for enhanced 911
At the April meeting of the Meade County Fiscal Court, Magistrate Don Callecod stressed the importance of good road names for the success of E911. He explained the need for some road names to be changed due to the fact that signs with quirky names such as Turkey Ridge Road or Outlaw’s Bend attract thieves. Callecod asked that people watch for missing signs and notice if there is one in the wrong place such as a child’s bedroom. Other roads need changing due to similar sounding names such as Gray or Ray Road. Two roads with similar names in opposite ends of the county could cause a difference between life or death. Callecod requested that the magistrates handle the changes in their district.
