Pat Greenwell receives U.S. Patent on tractor hitch

It’s not every day that someone comes up with a brilliant and useful invention. And it’s also not every day that this invention manages to make it through the long (five years) and rigorous requirements necessary to earn it a U.S. patent. Yet, despite the odds, Meade County’s Pat Greenwell has done just that.

Profile on Longevity – Edith Harrington

Edith Marie Pack was born on Sept. 11, 1916, the youngest daughter of Albert and Betty Pack of Brandenburg. The Packs were farmers, and they raised tobacco, corn, vegetables, cows, hogs, and mules. Edith had a sister named Ethel and her three brothers were Gus Henry, Hayward and Frank.

Leo Club screening for lazy eye in Meade County day care facilities

The North Hardin/Meade County Leo Club is hard at work in Meade County screening for amblyopia (lazy eye) in area day care facilities. They are screening children between the ages of 1 and 5 whose parent or guardian has signed a consent form.
