Considerable fire damage to Bo Peep’s

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on July 12, a fire broke out at Bo Peep’s Day Care on Old Mill Road in Brandenburg. The day care, which was originally located on Broadway in Brandenburg, had just opened up in its new location on July 10. The new location is the former location of Coffee Cup Café.


Meade County Riverport Authority discusses money, roads and permits

The Meade County Riverport Authority met July 10 to discuss matters regarding finances, grants, permits and access roads.


Fiscal Court approves hiring

The Fiscal Court took less than two hours to handle 15 agenda items, including a closed session, at their July 11 regular meeting. With no public session participants and no planning and zoning requests, the Court was able to jump right into the approval of the 2005 property tax account presented by Bryan Claycomb at the sheriff’s request.


River Heritage Bluegrass Festival

Well, it didn’t rain on the third annual River Heritage Bluegrass Festival in Brandenburg’s Riverfront Park, but it sure was hot.


Brandenburg City Council addresses nuisances

The Brandenburg City Council held its regular monthly meeting July 10 and spent some time discussing letters sent to those in violation of the nuisance ordinance.


Muldraugh City Council lacks quorum; holds workshop

Muldraugh City Council planned to hold its regular monthly meeting on July 10; however, there were not enough council members in attendance to form the required quorum needed to hold a legal meeting. Present were Mayor Danny Tate and council members Donnie Basham, Ron Heschke, and Curtis Kelley. Councilman Irvin Davis planned to be there but was unable to attend due to illness. Council members Dean Dresel and Linda Toler were also absent.
